Dozens in Bend celebrate World QiGong and Tai Chi Day
When the clock hit 10 a.m. Saturday in Bend, that’s when many people around the worldtried to become stress-free.And it was all part of the World QiGong and Tai Chi Day.
The day is meant to bring awareness to the martial art forms.
A group honored the day with classes held at Larkspur Park in Bend.
The art forms are meant to help harness good energy into the body of an individual and release the negative energy.
Tai Chi is a moving meditation, pushing energy around your body.
And you stand still doing QiGong.
“I think everyone should just read about QiGong and Tai Chi,” said Karin Chen, co-owner of Oregon Tai Chi Wushu. “There’s a reason why it’s been around so long. It can benefit everyone.”
Tai Chi is a 5,000-year-old tradition in China and has many health benefits, which include reduced anxiety and lower blood pressure.
And it’s even been said that for those suffering from chronic fatigue, they experience more energy.
