Volunteers in Medicine Clinic of the Cascades (VIM) announced Thursday that Michel Boileau, MD, has joined the organization’s Board of Directors.

Boileau is the Chief Clinical Officer of St. Charles Health System. He is also in private practice on a limited basis at Bend Urology, where he has been since 1987.

Prior to moving to Central Oregon, Boileau served as chief of urologic oncology at the University of Texas in Houston, and at the University of Washington Medical School in Seattle.

“VIM fills a gap that exists within our community with medically uninsured low-income workers,” Boileau said. “I am very pleased to be working with them to help Deschutes County become healthier, and to support the work of such dedicated and highly skilled volunteers and community partners.”

Boileau joins current VIM board members: Cynthia Kane, PhD (Chair), Kate Dunning, Kurt Barker, Deb Davies, Bob Hakala, MD, Tanya Hayden, Steven Koski, Jim Lussier, John MacMillan, Jim Petersen, Rod Ray, PhD, Dan Stevens and John Teller, MD.
