The Shepherd’s House sees donations decline

KTVZ

The Shepherd’s House, serving the homeless in Bend, is experiencing a substantial drop-off in donations this spring.

In April, The Shepherd’s House experienced a 40 percent shortfall of the funds needed to continue to provide over 2,000 meals per month to the homeless and to provide shelter to 30 men working to lead healthy, productive lives within The Shepherd’s House’s program.

“We are experiencing a slump in donations. We are receiving around half of what we need to sustain operations,” said Director Curt Floski.

“We are serving over 2,000 meals per month and we have a wonderful, transformational program here that is really working,” Floski said. “We have recent graduates that are going to school or working full time and have found housing, who were homeless before they came to The Shepherd’s House.”

Donations can be made online http://myshepherdshouse.org/donate or by mail at P.O. Box 5484, Bend, OR 97708.
