Jill Barrett, a physical therapist for the High Desert Education Service (HDESD), has been recognized for her outstanding achievements in providing education-based therapy services to Oregon children.

As the 2013 recipient of the Judy Rowe Exemplary Therapist Award, Barrett was nominated by her colleagues for her professional expertise and dedication to children and families in Central Oregon.

The award is presented each year by Regional and Statewide Services for Students with Orthopedic Impairments (RSOI) at the annual TIES (Therapy in Education Settings) Conference.

“Jill is an invaluable member of our team. Her expertise and talent touches the lives of children and families in multiple school districts, from the largest to the most rural areas we serve,” said John Rexford, superintendent for the High Desert Education Service District. “She is a champion for children with special needs and also a mentor to our team of therapists, as well as her colleagues in the community.”
