Mosaic Medical CEO receives honor

KTVZ

Residents of Bend, Madras and Prineville can look forward to better community health, thanks to the work of Megan Haase, CEO of Mosaic Medical.

The Oregon Primary Care Association (OPCA) has recognized Haase with one of its annual Health Center Leadership awards. The awards honor Oregonians who contribute to the success of the state’s network of community health centers. Health centers provide comprehensive, culturally competent primary care to more than 333,000 Oregonians in medically underserved communities statewide.

Haase received a “Leadership in Transformation” award for helping develop a new payment approach for health centers. This alternative payment methodology gives health centers the flexibility to serve patients in a variety of ways beyond the office visit. It is well aligned with Oregon’s two main health care transformation models – the Coordinated Care Organization and the patient-centered primary care home.

“Transforming the health of our communities – rather than merely adjusting medical payments – takes an innovative approach and the strong leadership of people like Megan Haase,” says Tammy Baney, Deschutes County commissioner and chair of the Central Oregon Health Council. “Megan and the Mosaic team foster community and partnerships while providing life- changing services to those in need. They are simply extraordinary.”

Haase is a family nurse practitioner by training. She has been with Mosaic since 2002 and served in the role of provider and medical director before becoming CEO in 2010. She sits on the Central Oregon Health Council and the boards of the Rimrock Health Alliance and St. Charles Health System.

OPCA gave Health Center Leadership awards to 13 professionals in five categories. Following is the complete list of 2013 honorees:
