New chair of FAN Foundation board

Family Access Network Foundation (FAN) announces that Andie Edmonds has been voted in as the new Foundation Board Chair. She joined the FAN board in 2010 and has been serving as the Secretary/Treasurer since June 2012.

Kristi Miller is retiring as Board Chair after serving for 7 years. Miller recently said, “It has been a pleasure to work with all of you and you can be sure in my role as Ex-Officio I will still be a fan of FAN and the Foundation in numerous ways.”

The official FAN leadership team is now: Andie Edmonds, Board Chair, Mike Smith, Vice Chair (no change), and Brooke Garcia, Secretary/Treasurer.

Andie Edmonds’ is a Commercial Real Estate Broker for The Aris Group. She is a graduate of University of Oregon. Andie moved to Bend with her husband and three children in 2006. She has served on the Fan board since 2010.

Mike Smith is a Senior Mortgage Banker at Director’s Mortgage and has served on the FAN board since 2008.

Brooke Garcia works on the Professional Banking team at the Bank of the Cascades and has served on the FAN Board since 2006.

FAN began in January 1993 and currently employs 25 advocates in 43 public schools (K-12) and 3 early childhood sites. FAN’s mission is to improve lives by ensuring all children in Deschutes County have access to basic-need services.

FAN is unique to Deschutes County, utilizing advocates to efficiently reach and connect disadvantaged children and families with basic needs, such as food, shelter, clothing, health care and other critical services.
