DCSO takes in 2 donkeys, looks for owners
It’s starting to look a bit like Dr. Doolittle’s menagerie at the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office’s Large Animal Rescue and Shelter. Already seeking the owners of a recently found piglet and miniature donkey, now they have two new arrivals: two standard donkeys.
The sheriff’s office is seeking information on the possible owners of the two donkeys, both reported as being at large Wednesday in the Tumalo area.
The reporting party did post a “found” ad on Craigslist, but got no information or calls before contacting the sheriff’s office.
Deputies said the donkeys were found with no halters or ropes in place.
Anyone with information as to a possible owner, or those claiming ownership of the animals were asked to call the county’s non-emergency dispatch number at (541) 693-6911, referencing case number 13-172170.
Those calling with a claim of ownership will be asked to supply other descriptive information, such as age and gender, deputies said.
