‘Spamalot’ a strong performer at Tower Theatre

“Monty Python’s Spamalot,” produced by Stage Right Production in collaboration with 2 nd Street Theater and presented by the Tower Theatre Foundation, had an attendance of 2,765 over six performances September 13-21, with a record-setting average attendance of 461 per show.

However,Cat Call Production’s “Chicago” keeps the title as the most highly-attended locally-produced community theatre production at the Tower Theatre. Its eight performances in September 2011 reached 3,103 patrons.

“All these attendance figures are signs of the vital and growing importance of theatre in Bend. I am looking forward to setting evenmoreattendance records with our presentation of ‘Les Miserables’ produced by Shore Thing Productions next September,” said Ray Solley, executive director of the Tower Theatre Foundation.

“Spamalot was a wonderful opportunity to assemble some of the most talented actors and musicians in Central Oregon,” said Sandy Klein, managing director of Stage Right Productions, the nonprofit that operates 2nd Street Theater. “We are grateful to the Tower Theatre Foundation and U.S. Bank’s Marquee Series for showcasing them, and to the enthusiastic audiences that supported us.”
