Deschutes prosecutor Turner chosen as instructor
District Attorney Patrick Flaherty is pleased to announce that after a competitive application process, Deputy DA Brigid Turner has been selected to join the faculty and be a prosecutor instructor for the Oregon Sexual Assault Task Force, Sexual Assault Training Institute.
SATI currently has active and sworn law enforcement officers, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners, Prosecutors, and Victim Advocates on its faculty.
The Sexual Assault Training Institute (SATI) provides discipline-specific and multidisciplinary trainings, which are intended to increase knowledge, skills and victim sensitivity to Victim Advocates, Law Enforcement, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners, Prosecutors and Sexual Assault Response Teams.
District Attorney Flaherty stated “It is an honor for Brigid to be selected for this position, but not surprising given her dedication to justice, protection of victims and her skill as a prosecutor.” DDA Turner has tried a number of Domestic Violence, Child Abuse and Measure 11 cases. She also worked with District Attorney Flaherty on the successful prosecution of Thomas Bray.
