OSU-Cascades hires diversity coordinator

Oregon State University – Cascades has hired a part-time diversity coordinator to further its efforts to create and promote a welcoming, supportive and inclusive climate within the campus community. Regina Ricketts joined the branch campus in August.

Ricketts brings nearly 20 years’ experience in higher education, having served as an instructor, academic advisor, program coordinator and grant writer. She has also worked with high school populations.

While working at Colorado Mountain College, she led the development of ESL and GED courses, and helped establish a GED testing center in Grand County, Colo. In 1993 she was recognized as both the Anti-Defamation League Nationally Recognized Teacher of the Year and the Jewish Labor Committee Nationally Recognized Teacher of the Year.

Ricketts received her master of arts in humanities and secondary education from Southern Oregon University. She received her bachelor’s degree from University of Oregon.

Her role at OSU-Cascades supports the equity, inclusion and diversity efforts of the university. She will plan and direct community-building efforts and diversity programs and initiatives.

In addition to her role as the diversity coordinator at OSU-Cascades, Ms. Ricketts also serves as the Native American program coordinator at Central Oregon Community College.
