‘Cranksgiving’ ride benefits Bethlehem Inn

With the calendar turning to November, Thanksgiving is right around the corner. On Sunday, the Bethlehem Inn kicked off the month with its second annual “Cranksgiving” scavenger bike ride.

The ride took place at Good Life Brewing Co. Its purpose was to help the Bethlehem Inn stock its pantry and shelves for the upcoming holiday season.

NewsChannel 21 spoke with Executive Director Gwenn Wysling about what “Cranksgiving” ultimately means to the Bethlehem Inn.

“We just really appreciate what our community does to help the shelter, and help those who are in need and struggling,” Wysling said. “It can be any one of us, paycheck to paycheck, that might be in need of services in our community.”

Wysling also says the Bethlehem Inn serves 66,000 meals a year.

Cyclists were given grocery lists and biked around town to collect each item on the list.

If you weren’t able to make it to Sunday’s ride, the Bethlehem Inn regularly accepts food donations.
