The Crook County Sheriff’s Office, Crook County Fire and Rescue, the Crook County Health Department and the Prineville Police Department have joined in creating a Twitter account that will allow citizens to be informed as quickly as possible about rapidly developing incidents.
By following “Crook County 911,” citizens will learn about traffic hazards, road closures, and critical incidents such as dangerous weather, hazardous materials spills, and other information of importance, like health-threatening disease outbreaks or other public emergencies.
Each partner agency will post important information as quickly as possible. Each agency will preface their postings with the abbreviated name of the agency (i.e. CCSO, CCFR, CCHD or PPD).
It’s our hope that by getting information out using the immensely successful Twitter messaging service, we can keep our citizens as safe and well informed as possible.
