Suspect sought in Drake Park stabbing

Bend police said late Tuesday they were seeking tips from the public to find whoever stabbed a 23-year-old Bend man in the chest at Drake Park during a fight involving several people late Monday night.
Officers responded around 11:20 p.m. Monday to the reported physical dispute involving several subjects at Drake Park, said Sgt. Dan Ritchie.
Responding officers contacted a 23-year-old victim who was walking away from the park, discovering he had sustained a single stab wound to the chest, Ritchie said. He was taken by ambulance to St. Charles-Bend, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, the sergeant said, withholding his identity due to the ongoing investigation.
The suspect was described as a white male in his mid-20s with some facial hair, baggy clothing and a “sloppy” beanie hat. He is not believed to know the victim, Ritchie added.
The suspect was in the company of two other men and possibly a woman, all believed to be in their mid-20s as well.
Bend police detectives asked that anyone with information related to the investigation contact them through Deschutes County 911 at (541) 693-6911.
