Lack of snow scrubs Chemult Sled Dog Races

KTVZ

The 2014 Chemult Sled Dog Races, scheduled to be held February 15 & 16, have been cancelled due to lack of snow and no appreciable amounts forecast in the near future.

The races had been delayed from a planned Jan. 18-19 date due to the lack of early-season snow.

This event has been held for nearly 20 years, and organizers are hopeful it will resume next year. For more information about the races, contact Erin Sutton at (541) 408-5729 or suttonerin77@yahoo.com or Polly Riley at (541) 593-9884 or
