Moving dirt at future home of St. Charles Prineville

KTVZ

Site work for the future home of St. Charles Prineville is underway and the hospital is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony next Wednesday.

The $30 million facility, located off Combs Flat Road, will replace Pioneer Memorial Hospital.

CEO Jeanie Gentry said the new facility will be smaller and feature fewer hospital beds — a focus on efficiency and preventative and outpatient care.

“That’s really the heart of our future,” Gentry said Friday. “Keeping people well, having a medical home that they can refer to and really become a center of their medical community.”

St. Charles also has hired three new doctors who will start this summer at Prineville Memorial Hospital and offer primary after-hours care available to patients for the first time ever.

The groundbreaking ceremony will be held next Wednesday at 3 p.m.

The hospital is expected to open before the fall of 2015.
