Car hits power pole, driver hurt near Prineville

KTVZ

A driver was injured Friday afternoon when his car left the O’Neil Highway just west of Prineville and struck a power pole, then hit a nearby car and pushed it into a house, Oregon State Police reported.

The crash occurred just before 4 p.m. on Highway 370 when the unidentified man driving a 1996 Buick Regal failed to negotiate a curve, crossed both lanes and hit a power pole, troopers said. The Buick then struck a car at a nearby home, pushing it into a home and causing some damage, they said.

The driver was taken to a hospital for treatment of undetermined injuries, troopers said, adding that the damaged power pole was not blocking any lanes.

OSP was assisted at the scene by the Prineville Police Department, Crook County Sheriff’s Office, area fire and medical responders, and ODOT.
