U.S. Bank grant to Family Access Network
The Family Access Network is the recipient of a $4,000 grant from U.S. Bank Foundation to help support a FAN advocate at John Tuck Elementary School, a high-needs school in Redmond.
The FAN advocate will connect over 400 children and family members to basic needs, including food, shelter, clothing, heating and healthcare.
Coby Horton, commercial banking manager of U.S. Bank, was pleased to present the grant check, saying, “Many families in our community continue to struggle with issues such as housing, hunger, health and unemployment.
“At U.S. Bank, we feel that it is our responsibility to partner with well run organizations like Family Access Network (FAN) that have a proven track record in supporting our community.
“FAN connects resources to families in need so that their children can stay in school and benefit from the advantages of a good education. U.S. Bank is pleased to offer this support and congratulate FAN for what they do for the needs of families in the community which we serve. Thank you.”
FAN began in January 1993 and currently employs 26 advocates in 43 public schools (K-12) and 3 early childhood sites. FAN’s mission is to improve lives by ensuring all children in Deschutes County have access to basic-need services.
FAN is unique to Deschutes County, utilizing advocates to efficiently reach and connect disadvantaged children and families with basic needs, such as food, shelter, clothing, health care and other critical services.
