ODOT: Traffic changes at Murphy Road project

As the new alignment of Murphy Road takes shape on the south side of Bend at Third Street and Highway 97, traffic patterns will be changing this week to accommodate construction activities, officials said.

Murphy Road will be closed at Parrell Road, and there will be intermittent closures at Murphy and Third due to construction in the area. Murphy will be opened on its new alignment in early September.

This change will take effect at 9 p.m. Wednesday.

The $27 million US97/Murphy Road project is a combined effort with the city of Bend to increase the east-west connectivity in south Bend, and eliminate two sets of signals.
