Indoor rock climbing clinic with Wounded Warriors
This upcoming Saturday at the Bend Rock Gym, OAS and Mark Wellman, an avid adaptive rock climber, instructor and two-time Paralympian will be hosting a climbing clinic for local wounded warriors.
Mark Wellman was disabled by a climbing accident in 1982 and since then, has overcome staggering physical and emotional obstacles to achieve what one many only dream.
Mark has made history by ascending the 3,000 foot face of Yosemite’s famed El Capitan, the largest vertical wall in America. In 1991, he captured the world’s attention again with a bold, foul-weather ascent of Half Dome, via the sheer, vertical 2,200 foot Tis-Sa-Ack route.
Wellman and OAS will be sharing creative designs with Wounded Warriors on how to achieve their peak goals regardless of their barriers. This clinic would not exist without the Wounded Warrior Project’s support.
Spaces are still available to Wounded Warrior alumni.
