Redmond schools honored for financial reports

KTVZ

The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to Redmond School District by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).

This year marks the twenty-fifth year that Redmond School District has been awarded this prestigious achievement.

According to the GFOA, the Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

“The receipt of this award is an affirmation of the district’s commitment to transparent and accurate financial reporting,” shared A.J. Losoya, Redmond School District Board Chair. “Receiving the award for 25 consecutive years is rare among school districts in the State of Oregon. The board applauds the entire RSD Team for their hard work and efforts to go beyond the minimum disclosure requirements!”

The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the GFOA award program, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure,” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users to read the CAFR.
