Crowell joins Boys & Girls Clubs of Bend board
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Bend is excited to announce the addition of Jim Crowell to the Board of Directors.
Crowell, a 73 year resident of Bend, graduated from Bend High School in 1955. In 1998, Crowell was named the City of Bend’s “Citizen of the Year” for spearheading the restoration project of the old Bend High School gym, which is now home to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bend’s Downtown Club.
Jim Schell, Board Chair, said, “We are overjoyed that Jim is joining us as a member of our restructured Board of Directors. Jim brings to our Board a connection to the traditional Bend community that we haven’t had before. He’s played a major role in the history of the Boys & Girls Club and we look forward to his helping us grow our future.”
Crowell joins the now 19-member board that oversees the Club’s two locations, finances, strategic planning and community outreach. Executive Director Derek Beauvais, commented “It is always exciting to welcome new members to the board. Jim brings with him a fresh perspective and a passion for the Bend community. His wealth of knowledge and deep community ties will be a wonderful addition to our already talented group.”
