CRR man arrested in shots-fired dispute
A 24-year-old Crooked River Ranch resident was arrested Monday afternoon after police were called out on a shooting report and learned three shots had been fired, but no one was injured, Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies said.
The sheriff’s office responded around 1:30 p.m. to a report of shots fired in the 12000 block of Peninsula Avenue, on the north end of the large subdivision that straddles the Deschutes-Jefferson county line, said sheriff’s Capt. Marc Heckathorn.
Once on scene, deputies, assisted by Oregon State Police and Deschutes County deputies, contacted all involved parties and learned a gun had been fired three times — but contrary to some initial reports, no one had been injured.
During the investigation, Tyrell Ross was arrested on charges of unlawful use of a weapon, menacing, pointing a firearm at another and first-degree disorderly conduct. He was lodged at the county jail in Madras, held on $11,000 bail.
Crooked River Ranch Fire and Rescue also assisted on the call, Heckathorn said.
