Bethlehem Inn awarded two challenge grants

KTVZ

The Bethlehem Inn is proud to announce it has been awarded two challenge grants in support of its upcoming annual fundraiser, Spotlight on Homelessness, scheduled for Tuesday, May 12 at The Riverhouse Convention Center.

The Bend Foundation has awarded the Inn $10,000 and The Collins Foundation has provided a commitment for $20,000.

Each challenge grant will match $1,000+ donations from donors attending the Spotlight dinner. The match funding will help support the Inn’s program providing shelter, meals and support services to over 1,100 homeless adults and children in Central Oregon.

“We are very excited about the endorsements from both The Bend Foundation and The Collins Foundation,” stated Gwenn Wysling, Executive Director of the Inn. “These challenge grants mean that each $1,000 donation made during our annual Spotlight on Homelessness fundraising dinner will be matched dollar for dollar up to $30,000.

“Having a donor’s money doubled as a result of these grants is a great investment for our $1,000+ donors, our residents and our community! Proceeds from the annual dinner will be dedicated to providing a warm, safe place to sleep, meals, clothing and support services – all vital components of the Inn’s program serving the disadvantaged adults and families in our community.”

The Bethlehem Inn provided shelter, food and support to 796 adults and children last year; over 74,000 meals were served to those in crisis and another 1,473 food boxes were provided to those in crisis. To learn more about the Bethlehem Inn and how Transform Lives with Shelter,
