Warm Springs fire displaces 9; puppies perish
The Red Cross was called in to help nine Warm Springs residents, including six children, displaced by a house fire early Friday morning that also claimed some puppies, the agency said.
The fire was reported around 1:45 a.m. at a home in the 1700 block of Bray Avenue, a Red Cross spokeswoman said. Warm Springs Fire and Safety officials declined comment.
The fire affected three adults, six children and a dog, whose puppies “did not make it out of the fire,” said Red Cross spokeswoman Paula Fasano Negele.
The Red Cross provided food, clothing, infant formula and supplies, a crib and linens, lodging, comfort kits, blankets and information about disaster health and mental health services, she said.
