High Desert Museum offers free admission to military families

KTVZ

The High Desert Museum announced Wednesday participation in Blue Star Museums, a collaboration among the National Endowment of the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across America to offer free admission to the nation’s active duty military personnel including National Guard and Reserve and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

The launch date for the High Desert Museum will be Saturday, May 23.

“Blue Star Museums offers military families a great way to connect with the Museum’s world-class exhibitions and programs. Museums are often one of the best ways for families to connect with each other as well – fostering conversation and learning experiences across generations,” said High Desert Museum Executive Director Dana Whitelaw. “We are proud to participate again in Blue Star Museums this year.”

The free admission program is available to any bearer of an Armed Forces of the United States Geneva Convention Identification Card (CAC) or Uniformed Services Identification Card (DD Form 1173 or DD-Form 1173-1), and up to five family members.
