Prineville man arrested in stabbing
A 55-year-old Prineville man was arrested on assault and menacing charges Sunday after another man showed up at Pioneer Memorial Hospital for treatment of a stab wound to the arm, police said Monday.
Just before 4:30 p.m. Sunday, a caller to Prineville’s 911 dispatch center reported a man had been stabbed and was being treated at Pioneer Memorial Hospital, said Sgt. Tom Kurtz.
The reporting party advised the suspect went to the hospital with the victim and at the time was outside the hospital and was “agitated,” Kurtz said.
Police learned the victim had been stabbed in the arm in a vehicle in the area of Northeast Main and Third streets, the sergeant said.
An officer contacted the suspect and, after further investigation, Charles John Rost was arrested on charges of first-degree assault and menacing.
He was booked into the Crook County Jail, where he remained held Monday on $110,000 bail.
