High Desert Chamber Music seeks board members

KTVZ

Last year, as part of its strategic planning process, the Board of Directors crafted the following Vision statement for High Desert Chamber Music:

The vision of High Desert Chamber Music is to be recognized as the leader and premiere resource of chamber music opportunities in the region. The reputation of HDCM will be one that competes on a national level, and attracts leading performers to Central Oregon. We envision:

* Every performance or event will be of the highest artistic quality and caliber

* Evert concert-goer will have a better understanding or appreciation of classical music

* Every student interested in furthering their understanding of music will be welcomed at little to no cost

In pursuit of that Vision, the Board developed a set of specific short-term and long-term goals in the areas of Board Development, Sponsor Acquisition/Fundraising, Concert Series Development and Management/Operations.

With respect to Board Development, we have identified the need to add one or two new directors with a proven track record of donor development and sponsorship acquisition.

While our Executive Director Isabelle Senger has been highly effective in this regard, we would like the Board to assume more responsibility for this task and thereby free up more of her time to focus on artistic development. If you have experience in donor development and would like to explore the possibility of joining the HDCM Board, please contact the HDCM Board of Directors President Bill Riser at: BRiser@bendcable.com

The current Board of Directors include: Bill Riser; President, Andy Kizans; Secretary, Richard Samco; Treasurer, Julie Kennedy Cochran, Matt Falkenstein (Shevlin Dental Center), Patricia Rogers, and Francis Senger (Mission Building). The current Board of Advisors include: Mark Mintz (Merrill Lynch) and Phillip Ruder.

High Desert Chamber Music’s mission is to bring world class chamber music and musicians to Central Oregon. Having just concluded their seventh season, HDCM has presented a broad range of chamber groups, ranging from string trios to piano quintets. Tickets for all events are available through HDCM online, by phone, or in person at our office in Downtown Bend.

HDCM 2014-2015 title sponsors include Mission Building, Michelle Mills Real Estate, Lumbermens Insurance, Virginia Ross Coldwell Banker Real Estate, Red Lion Inn & Suites, Hertz Car Sales of Bend, Tower Theatre Foundation, Oxford Hotel, KQAK radio and KBNW Radio.
