Motorcyclist killed in crash near Maupin

A Clackamas County man was killed Tuesday night in a motorcycle crash in Wasco County, Oregon State Police reported.

Shortly after 8 p.m., OSP troopers and other emergency personnel responded to the reported crash on state Highway 216 near near milepost 14 west of Maupin, troopers said.

Preliminary information indicated a 2008 Honda Motorcycle operated by Guy Medgin, 48, of Mulino, was heading west when he failed to negotiate a curve.

Medgin was thrown from his motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency crews.

According to a witness, Medgin had been traveling at a high rate of speed just prior to the crash.

OSP was assisted by the Wasco County District Attorney’s Office and the Wasco County Sheriff’s Department. The investigation is continuing and more information will be released when it is available.
