A Bend police officer conducted an investigation on Sept. 7 that showed marijuana was being sold and delivered to minors by Nicholas Edward Lane, 23, said Sgt. Mike Landolt.

Three days later, officers served a search warrant at Lane’s home at 1171 Northeast Ulysses Street, Landolt said. The location is across 12th Street from Hollinshead Park.

The search found different marijuana grows in the residence, with 60 more marijuana plants than allowed by state law, the sergeant said, as well as growing psilocybin mushrooms.

Officers also found evidence of marijuana sales and distribution and nearly $13,000 in cash proceeds from drug deals, officers said. They also seized four guns, including a loaded assault rifle and a handgun found to be stolen that was traded for marijuana.

Lane was booked into the Deschutes County Jail on several charges and conditionally released the next day, pending an Oct. 2 court appearance, a jail officer said.
