Power line work prompts closure near Suttle Lake

KTVZ

From October 12-16, the Deschutes National Forest is planning to close Forest Road 1210200 east of Suttle Lake from Forest Road 1210 to Highway 20 to replace an underground power line.

The owner of the power line, Central Electric Cooperative will begin construction along the SW Suttle Sherman Road on Monday, October 12. Excavators will dig down 4 feet next to the road to replace an existing distribution line that has been in place since 1972 and is failing.

The new line will be replaced as close as is practical from the existing line, which will be abandoned in place.

The power line services private residences and businesses in the area.

Forest Road 1210200 is anticipated to be open again on October 17.
