Update: Owners of two wandering pigs found

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office said Monday it had found the owners of two pigs — one pot-bellied — found wandering in the Tumalo and Terrebonne areas within hours of each other a week ago, and they had been returned to their owners.

Just after 10 a.m. last Monday, the sheriff’s office responded to a report of a found pig in the area of 100 Northeast Knickerbocker Avenue, in the Equestrian Meadows subdivision area, north of Redmond and east of Highway 97, said Lt. Paul Garrison.

The pig was eventually taken into custody and transported to an animal rescue facility.

Then, shortly before 4 p.m., the sheriff’s office responded to a report of a found pot-bellied pig in the area of 64810 Bill Martin Road in Tumalo.

That pig also was eventually taken into custody and transported to an animal rescue facility.

The sheriff’s office had requested assistance in locating the owners of the pigs or information in identifying the owners.
