Bend DAR chapter awards Youth Citizenship Medals

The Bend Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution awarded two DAR Youth Citizenship Medals earlier this month for service, courage, leadership and patriotism.

This year’s recipients are Alice McKnight, a 7th grader at Rimrock Expeditionary Alternative Learning Middle School, and Levi Follett, a 10th grader at Mountain View High School.

Alice developed her own service project, providing special kits for dogs in the homeless community.

Levi is a Naval Sea Cadet and member of the Navy JROTC, volunteering in support of many veteran projects and events. Both are outstanding young citizens.
