Oregon Senate Republicans seek repeal of low-carbon fuel standard
Oregon Senate Republican leaders wrote to Gov. Kate Brown Monday, urging her to “protect struggling Oregonians by repealing the Low Carbon Fuel Standard before passing a transportation package in the 2017 legislative session.”
Senate Republican Leader Ted Ferrioli, R-John Day, released the following statement:
“Senate Republicans are committed to working across the aisle to reduce carbon and fix our ailing transportation system, but we are also committed to protecting hard-working Oregonians.
“The partisan mandate on fuels will result in at least a 19-cent increase in gas prices across the state.
“We will not stand by as Democrats stack a hidden gas tax on top of a potential gas tax or additional vehicle fees. It’s time they back up their rhetoric and start having realistic conversations, including repealing the LCFS, to find a bipartisan solution that reduces carbon and invests in transportation.”
