Bend Chamber President Tim Casey leaving after 13 years
Bend Chamber President and CEO Tim Casey has departed the Bend Chamber after 13 years with the organization, it was announced Friday.
“Unfortunately, Tim is managing through several health-related issues sustained while he served our country as a flight deck mechanic in the United States Navy,” said Brain Fratzke, chairman of the Bend Chamber Board of Directors.
“Tim’s dedication to his country and the Bend Chamber of Commerce deserves a big thank you from all our members, board members and our community.”
During Casey’s eight years as president and CEO, he achieved great success including being instrumental in the OSU 50/50 Match program, which offered $150,000 to support the new campus; creating an advocacy program with the Oregon State Chamber of Commerce that gives Central Oregon a voice in Salem; and forming the Bend Chamber Heath Care program, which brings affordable insurance to businesses.
“I’ve kept my personal challenges to myself as best I could. However, as I have grown older, these injuries have taken their toll,” Casey stated in a letter to the Bend Chamber membership. “Rest assured, you have wonderful leadership at the helm. I could not have asked for a better board or staff to work with.”
Sandy Stephenson, who has been with the Bend Chamber for 18 years, is serving as the interim CEO and president.
“When presented with the opportunity to serve as interim president and CEO, the decision was an easy yes,” Stephenson said. “It is my pleasure to serve our members, board, staff and our community.”
