Bethlehem Inn receives two challenge grants

Bethlehem Inn announced Mondaythat it is the recipient of two challenge grant awards: The Collins Foundation has committed $20,000 and The Bend Foundation has donated $10,000 in challenge grant funding.

This match grant funding will support the Inn’s program providing shelter, meals and case management services to adults and children experiencing homelessness in Central Oregon.

“We are very excited about this endorsement from two foundations that provide so much support to our community,” stated Gwenn Wysling, executive director of the inn.

These challenge grants will leverage each $1,000 donation made during the annualSpotlight on Homelessnessfundraising dinner, allowing donors’ investments to be matched dollar for dollar.

“Having a donor’s money doubled as a result of The Collins Foundation and The Bend Foundation is a great investment for our $1,000+ donors, residents and our community!” Wysling said

Proceeds from the Inn’s annual fundraising dinner,Spotlight on Homelessness, scheduled forTuesday, May 10will be dedicated to providing a warm, safe place to sleep, nutritious meals, clothing and case management services – all vital components of the inn’s program serving the disadvantaged adults and families in our community.

Bethlehem Inn provided shelter, food and support to 846 individuals and children last year; over 72,000 meals were and 953 food boxes were provided.
