A concerned citizen’s call to police prompted a drug raid later that day on a southwest Redmond home that led to the arrest of six Redmond residents and the seizure of methamphetamine and heroin, police said Thursday.

It was the second such raid there in three months and the third in six years.

Officers with the Redmond Police Department Street Crimes Unit received information from a concerned citizen around 4 p.m. Tuesday that the occupants of 713 Southwest 26 th Street were “actively involved” in drug sales and distribution, said Sgt. Aaron Wells.

Based on information gathered during the investigation, a search warrant was requested from a judge and granted, and officers conducted the raid just before 10 p.m. Tuesday, Wells said.

Officers seized about four grams of meth and two grams of heroin, along with six scales and packaging material, the sergeant said.

Nine people, including a juvenile female who was released without charges, were contacted during the raid and six were arrested.

Sara Gittins, 38; Evan Hawkins, 21; Chance Wester, 19; Michele Brownfield, 40; James Dacus, 55; and Kendra Fraga, 20, were booked into the Deschutes County jail on charges of meth possession and frequenting a place where drugs are used., Wells said.

Hawkins, Wester and Fraga also face heroin possession charges. Three of the six – Gittins, Hawkins and Wester – remained jailed Thursday on probation violation charges, jail records showed.

Back in February, a guns-drawn traffic stop of a stolen pickup truck led to a raid on the same home, the recovery of a stolen rifle and the arrests of five Redmond residents, including Gittins. Back in August 2010, eight arrests were made in a raid on the same home.

Anyone with information they would like to share regarding illegal drugs is asked to contact Redmond police at 541-504-3400, or the Deschutes County dispatch non-emergency number at 541-693-6911.
