KTVZ

A Warm Springs woman was found dead in her home early Thursday, the FBI reported. Police and FBI agents alerted the public as they searched for her husband, who they said should be considered armed and dangerous and may be suicidal.

Warm Springs officers conducting a welfare check found the body of Candelaria Rhoan, 30, inside her home in the early morning hours, said FBI Portland spokeswoman Beth Anne Steele.

“Although the autopsy is pending, responding officers believe Ms. Rhoan died violently,” Steele said in a news release.

Steele confirmed Friday that “no one else was in the house” at the time Rhoan’s body was found “and there is no concern about other family members.”

Warm Springs officers and FBI agents are attempting to locate her husband, Mark Kevin Johnson, Jr., 33, who, was last seen at a friend’s home on the Warm Springs Reservation at about 2 p.m. on Wednesday,

Steele said Johnson likely is driving a 1998 maroon four-door Volkswagen Passat with an Oregon license plate of 223 DXW.

“Johnson, Jr. may be suicidal, and he should be considered armed and dangerous.,” Steele said.

He was described as:
* Height: 5’8″
* Weight: 190 pounds
* Hair: Black
* Eyes: Brown

The FBI’s Evidence Response Team is responding to assist in the search of the home, the spokeswoman said. Agents and officers from the FBI’s Bend office and Warm Springs Police Department are investigating.

Anyone who has information about Johnson, Jr.’s whereabouts was asked to call 911. Those with general information about this investigation or the death of Ms. Rhoan were asked to call the Warm Springs Police Department at (541) 553-1171 or the FBI at (541) 389-1202.

Both Ms. Rhoan and Johnson Jr, are members of the Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs Reservation, Steele said.
