Gunman in skeleton mask robs Madras Burger King
A gunman wearing black clothing and a skeleton mask held up the Madras Burger King Friday night after it closed for the evening, police said Monday as they turned to the public for tips, including the Crime Stoppers Tip Line.
Madras and Warm Springs police and Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies responded shortly after 10 p.m. to the reported armed robbery at the restaurant, located at 1585 Southwest Highway 97, said Detective Sergeant Steve Webb.
They learned an unknown male had confronted the two employees and brandished a firearm after the business closed for the evening, Webb said.
They described the suspect as about 6 feet tall and wearing black clothing and a skeleton mask. Neither employee was able to identify the suspect, who stole an undisclosed amount of money, then placed the workers in a back office and fled.
A Bend Police dog helped officers search the area but they were unable to locate the suspect. Photos released Monday came from the business surveillance system.
