Prineville man arrested on 24 rape, abuse counts
A 63-year-old Prineville registered sex offender was arrested Saturday on two-dozen counts of rape, sex abuse and related offenses after two Prineville residents came forward and disclosed several years of abuse, police said Monday.
Frank Villastrigo Jr. made his initial appearance Monday afternoon in Crook County Circuit Court, where his initial $9.25 million bail was reduced to $500,000. Court records showed the judge ordered he have no contact with anyone under 18 if released. He is due back in court next Monday at 1 p.m. for arraignment on a formal grand jury indictment.
One of the victims reported the abuse started between the age of 8 and 10, said Prineville Police Sgt. James Peterson.
Two search warrants were served on Saturday morning as Villastrigo, a registered sex offender was taken into custody. Online records show his initial rape arrest occurred in 1990.
The charges against Villastrigo include five counts of first-degree rape, three first-degree counts each of sodomy and sexual abuse, eight counts of second-degree sexual abuse and four counts of second-degree unlawful sexual penetration. The alleged crimes date back to 2002 and up to this year, according to the DA’s initial outline of charges, called an information.
