Bend man arrested in downtown window-smashing

Bend police surrounded a downtown office building early Monday and arrested a 29-year-old Bend man on charges he threw rocks through the windows and glass door of three businesses and trespassed on a total of five properties.
Isaiah Marcy, 29, broke two windows and a glass door the three Greenwood Avenue businesses: Raymond James Financial Services, Pfeifer and Associates and Specialty Cigars, said Sgt. Mike Landolt.
Officers responded to the area shortly before 4 a.m. on a report Marcy was throwing rocks at a building at 102 NW Greenwood Avenue, Landolt said. Officers searched the area and found other buildings with damaged glass windows, he said.
Police checking the area found Marcy on the roof of a building at 42 Northwest Irving Avenue and surrounded the area, waiting for him to leave, the sergeant said. A Deschutes County sheriff’s deputy helped secure the area during that wait.
About 40 minutes after spotting March on the roof, he was contacted on a property next door and taken into custody without incident Landolt said.
Marcy was arrested on three counts of second-degree criminal mischief, five counts of second-degree criminal trespassing and one count of second-degree disorderly conduct. A jail officer said he’d been released because formal charges had not been filed. District Attorney John Hummel told NewsChannel 21 the case is under review.
Online court records for Marcy show arrests dating back to 2004 that include fourth-degree assault, DUII and second-degree arson, as well as an arrest last week for second-degree disorderly conduct.
