State corrections official resigns amid probe

KTVZ

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A 25-year corrections department employee has resigned as an internal investigation probes her conduct.

The Oregonian/OregonLive reports (http://bit.ly/2exLhtl) Kim Brockamp said in a staff email that her decision to leave her role as Department of Corrections deputy director was in the best interest of her family.

She made $12,805 per month in salary.

Brockamp declined to comment Friday.

A former correction institution superintendent sent an email to department leaders that sparked the investigation into Brockamp. That superintendent is the subject of a separate investigation related to an employee complaint.

Another agency official is also being investigated.

Agency spokeswoman Elizabeth Craig said Brockamp made the decision to step down and that none of the claims that have been made are criminal.

Agency Director Collette Peters appointed an interim director.
