HSCO Giving Tuesday goal: X-ray machine
For those seeking a meaningful holiday season, #GivingTuesday , on Nov. 29 th is the unofficial start of the ‘philanthropic giving season.’
The Tuesday after the consumer-centered shopping days of Black Friday and Cyber Monday is a time to think about the importance of giving and how communities can transform lives. Throughout the year and on #GivingTuesday, you can help animals in need at the Humane Society of Central Oregon.
On #GivingTuesday, donors can help the Humane Society of Central Oregon purchase a digital X-ray machine that will enable the shelter to provide the best possible care for the animals.
Animals frequently arrive with injuries that need radiographs to accurately diagnose the problem and enables HSCO to provide the best treatment.
Currently, painful, injured animals have to be transported to outside veterinary clinics for X-rays, and often have to wait for an appointment.
The Humane Society of Central Oregon would like to provide quick, humane treatment of all animals by having a digital x-ray machine on-site. In fact, the Oregon Veterinary Medical Examining Board requires all veterinary clinics in the state to have radiology capability.
HSCO has matching funds available from generous donors to purchase the machine, but is currently approximately $25,000 below the amount needed. By donating on Giving Tuesday , Nov. 29, and beyond, we can purchase and install this machine, giving our animals the care they need and deserve.
Please help our animals by making a tax-deductible donation on #GivingTuesday. For questions or more information, please contact John Houchens, Development Director, at john@hsco.org or (541) 382 3537 .
