JERUSALEM (AP) — The Palestinian Health Ministry says Israeli forces have shot and killed a Palestinian man during clashes in the occupied West Bank. The Ministry said forces shot 34-year-old Muhammad Assaf in the chest on Wednesday. The Israeli military said it opened fire and shot an armed suspect after its stones and firebombs were hurled at troops. But Palestinians said Assad, who was a lawyer, had merely been driving relatives to school and passed through the area as clashes were taking place. Israel has sent troops to comb through Palestinians cities and villages in recent days, looking for suspects or accomplices tied to recent Palestinian attacks on Israelis. The military said it arrested 15 people on Wednesday.
