Deschutes Children’s Foundation receives $50,000 donation

KTVZ

Deschutes Children’s Foundation’s Executive Director Amy Ward, board members and staff enthusiastically accepted a $50,000 donation presented by Subaru of Bend owners Bill and Matt Thomas at the dealership on Wednesday.

Last holiday season, DCF was the hometown charity in Subaru’s annual Share the Love event, in which Subaru donates $250 for every new car purchased to a charity of the owner’s choice.

“We are tremendously grateful to Subaru of Bend and all the patrons who chose to shop locally and direct their gift to Deschutes Children’s Foundation, the hometown charity,” said Ward. “This generous donation comprises the thoughtfulness of many individuals choosing to shop and donate right here in Central Oregon. Together it adds up to make a huge impact on our mission to provide the space and support where nonprofits succeed at helping children and families.”

“This is our 80th year in business here in Central Oregon and we are excited to continue to give back to our community, with the help of our customers at Subaru of Bend,” Matt Thomas shared. “We hope that this will help many children and families throughout Central Oregon.”
