Ridgeview students fare well at Future Business Leaders gathering

Fifteen Ridgeview High School Ravens traveled to Portland on April 6 to compete in the State Business Leadership Conference for Oregon Future Business Leaders of America.

There were over 1,600 Oregon high school students competing in over 50 events. Each of the 15 Ridgeview students competed in two events.

Two Ridgeview students earned first place honors, junior Gabrielle Crouch for client services and senior Jack Lindberg for economics.

“Customer service is a very important soft skill to have, through FBLA I have gained experience not easily found in the classroom,” Crouch said.

The top four place finishers qualified to compete at nationals in Anaheim, California at the end of June.

“The skills I have gained and use in my FBLA events will serve me well into my future college and career,” Lindberg said.

Along with Lindberg and Crouch, Garrett Crouch also earned a spot at nationals placing third in word processing. In total, the Ravens had 11 top ten place finishers.

Word Processing, 3rd place – Garrett Crouch

Journalism, 6th place – Rainey Shriver

Help Desk, 6th place – Garrett Crouch

Client Services, 6th Place – Carly Christiansen

Client Services, 8th Place- Rainey Shriver

Organizational Leadership, 9th place – Carson Dedmon

Securities and Investments, 9th place – Jay Patel

Entrepreneurship, 10th place – Jack Lindberg and Tyler Burnett
