Ridgeview High singing groups win first place at state

Singers from Ridgeview High School’s premier singing groups RavenSong and Raven Trio recently brought home first place against groups from across the state in the Oregon Music Education Association Small Ensemble State Competition.

Held on Friday, April 28 , at Pacific University in Forest Grove, the competition involved Oregon schools of all size classifications, including 6A.

RavenSong won first place for mixed large vocal ensemble and Raven Trio won first place for small tenor/bass ensemble. This is a repeat victory for the trio, as all members of the group were present for last year’s win in the same category.

This was the first win for RavenSong and their first time competing at the state level.

The groups consist of:

RavenSong – Beth Hamilton, Kaylee Kienenger, Ashlynn Kienenger, Carly King, Clare Rodman, Dean McCombs, Anthony Johnson, Carson Dedmon, Ben Estrada, Delos Erickson, Lexi Buchanan, Julianna Savage, Mikayla Slawosky, Erin Smallwood and Isabelle Winkler.

Raven Trio – Anthony Johnson, Ben Estrada, and Delos Erickson.
