Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office releases free app

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday it has released a free mobile app to help better connect with the residents of county. The app allows users to quickly obtain some of the most commonly requested information from the sheriff’s office.

The public can easily access latest news, events, inmate information, and the most wanted list. Links to contact the various units, report graffiti or dump sites and register bicycles in the event they are lost are stolen are also included.

Users can download the app from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. To locate the app, just search for “Deschutes Sheriff” at Google Play Store or iTunes.

Sheriff Nelson stated, “We are proud to offer additional technology to the citizens which shares important sheriff’s office information instantaneously. We continue to utilize modern technology and equipment to fulfill our commitment of providing quality law enforcement in a progressive and transparent manner to the citizens of Deschutes County.”

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office app is not meant to replace calling for law enforcement assistance, but is intended to better engage with residents and visitors of Deschutes County. Those experiencing an emergency situation should always call 9-1-1 first.
