(Update: Charges dismissed in raid)

Charges have been dropped against two La Pine-area men in an Aug, 15 raid, Deschutes County District Attorney John Hummel confirmed Wednesday .

Robert Edmondson Jr., 60, was accused of not following deputies’ commands and fighting with them to get control of their guns during the raid at a home on Cornell Drive. The charges included two counts each of assault on a public safety officer and resisting arrest, as well as methamphetamine possession.

Charges also were dismissed against Benjamin Morganti, 48, who remains in the county jail in Bend, held without bail on a parole violation charge and awaiting sentencing for criminal driving with a suspended or revoked license, jail records showed.

A third resident, Sarah Edmondson, 40, was cited in lieu of custody on a meth possession charge, deputies said.
