Smoke postpones Sunriver Half Marathon for a Cause

Due to weather conditions forecasted for this coming weekend, regrettably Sunriver Resort has decided to postpone the 7 th Annual Sunriver Half Marathon for a Cause benefiting St. Charles Cancer Services. This includes all running events – the Half Marathon, 5K Run/Walk and Kids Dash.

Sunriver Resort will contact all participants and issue an announcement of the new 2017 date. All regular resort activities are safe and open as normal, and are being monitored on a daily basis by Sunriver Resort management.

Refund options for run participants:

Rollover of full registration fee to the rescheduled event date to be announced Participants can donate the full registration fee to St. Charles Cancer Services 50% refund on registration fee

WHY: While we regret any inconvenience to participants – several forest fires in the region are creating smoky conditions that are potentially unsafe for extensive physical exertion, and the safety and health of runners is our top priority.

WHEN: Events were previously scheduled for Saturday, September 2 and Sunday, September 3. Sunriver Resort will reach out to all registered runners announcing the rescheduled 2017 date.

Meanwhile, the Sisters Folk Festival, Sept. 8-10, is still on as scheduled, event officials said Wednesday.
