Eugene School District, student sued over beating
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – A woman is suing the Eugene School District for allegedly failing to protect a North Eugene High School student from being beaten up by a classmate.
The Register-Guard reports (https://goo.gl/hNgg9t ) Olga Telsheva is seeking $625,000 in damages on behalf of her son in the suit filed Tuesday in Lane County Circuit Court.
Telsheva is also suing the student who allegedly assaulted her child twice at school on Nov. 13, 2015. The lawsuit claims Telsheva’s son suffered a concussion, chronic headaches, memory loss and anxiety.
The lawsuit asserts negligence claims against the district, and an assault and battery claim against the student who allegedly assaulted Telsheva’s son.
A school district spokeswoman said officials had not yet been served with the lawsuit.
